Inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson's Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, Wearingeul Edward Hyde is a dark violet fountain pen ink that gathers into near-black tones where the ink is most concentrated.

Produced by Wearingeul as part of its World Literature Ink Collection, Edward Hyde forms the darker counterpart to Henry Jekyll. Where Jekyll is expressed through deep crimson and burgundy, Hyde retreats toward violet-black—a fitting interpretation of the concealed figure who emerges from behind Jekyll's respectable identity.

From the Archivist's Desk

Edward Hyde reveals considerably more color than the bottle initially suggests. In our swatch, the heaviest areas approach black, while the thinner edges expose a distinctly violet character underneath.

That transition is what makes the ink interesting. It can appear restrained and very dark at first, then disclose its purple character as the amount of ink on the paper changes.

Placed beside Henry Jekyll, the conception becomes particularly clear: crimson and violet-black, two separate inks interpreting two identities occupying the same literary body.

Jekyll and Hyde were never meant to be understood separately.
