Oscar Wilde — Beauty & the Soul

A jeweled prince. A nightingale’s song. A crown questioned. A fallen star. A portrait behind a locked door.

Oscar Wilde’s stories glitter with beauty, then ask us to look beneath the surface. This collection brings together five Wearingeul fountain pen inks inspired by his fiction, curated and hand-bottled by Boston Lore Studio for readers, writers, and those who like their colors to carry a story.

The palette moves from blue and gold through warm brown, rose red, and amber to a quiet lavender gray. Four shimmering inks bring theatrical light; Dorian Gray closes the collection with shifting shadows. Five generous 6 mL glass bottles offer 30 mL of ink across five literary worlds.

I — The Happy Prince · Wearingeul

The riches of a generous heart

Soft blue scattered with gold shimmer recalls the jeweled prince above the city, giving away his splendor to those in need. A luminous opening to a collection in which the greatest treasures are often hidden within.

II — The Nightingale and the Rose · Wearingeul

A song beyond price

Warm, earthy brown glows with rose-pink shimmer, evoking a small singer’s devotion and the terrible cost of a perfect rose. Its understated base carries an unexpected gleam, like a love story discovered between old pages.

III — The Young King · Wearingeul

The conscience beneath the crown

Rich rose red with rose-gold shimmer evokes royal finery, then asks what beauty is worth when others pay its price. The color brings warmth and drama to the palette, with light that changes as the page turns.

IV — The Star-Child · Wearingeul

From vanity into grace

Amber orange burns beneath violet shimmer, tracing a proud child’s passage through suffering toward compassion. Earth and starlight meet in a color as changeable as the story’s understanding of beauty.

V — The Picture of Dorian Gray · Wearingeul

The secret behind the portrait

Lavender gray gathers blue-green shadows, recalling a flawless face and the hidden portrait that bears its truth. Without the shimmer of its companions, this softly shifting ink brings the collection to a reflective close.

A box made to keep

The black Ink Archive box closes with a magnetic lid and holds the five bottles in a fitted foam insert. The insert lifts out by design, allowing the box to become a home for ink samples, nibs, letters, or small keepsakes once the inks are in use.

At the writing desk

The Happy Prince, The Nightingale and the Rose, The Young King, and The Star-Child contain shimmer. Gently roll or invert each bottle before filling to redistribute the particles, follow your pen maker’s guidance for shimmer inks, and clean your pen regularly. Broader nibs and wetter writing often reveal more of the shimmer and shading.

About our ink samples

These are genuine Wearingeul inks independently decanted into labeled Boston Lore Studio glass bottles. They are repackaged samples presented in our own gift box; original Wearingeul retail bottles and packaging are not included. The arrangement and literary descriptions are Boston Lore Studio’s curatorial interpretation.

Swatch colors, shading, and shimmer vary with paper, nib, ink flow, lighting, viewing angle, and screen. Broad, heavily applied swatches may show effects more strongly than everyday writing.

Each gift set is securely packed with care to protect the glass ink bottles during transit.
