Jinhao 9035 Walnut Fountain Pen — Fine Nib
A dark wooden fountain pen with the familiar shape of a well-used writing instrument. We chose the Jinhao 9035 after writing with it ourselves: its full-size body is comfortable without feeling elaborate, while the Fine nib suits letters, marginal notes, and steady everyday use.
The Walnut finish brings out a deeper brown grain and a more reserved character. Natural wood varies, so each pen will show small differences in color and pattern.

The Archivist’s Recommendation
For the dark grain of walnut, the Archivist pairs this pen with J. Herbin Lie de Thé, a warm tea brown that reads like ink in an old ledger and settles naturally beside the wood. For everyday black, keep a pack of Boston Lore Studio Black International Cartridges at hand; they have been tested with this pen. Remove the converter before inserting a cartridge.
