Platinum Classic Sepia Black Fountain Pen Ink — 60 mL

$32.00

Sepia Black is a soft, gray-toned brown—the color of old photographs and faded correspondence—that deepens on the page as its iron oxidizes. Platinum’s Classic inks are made in the traditional iron gall manner, and each is named for the black it is slowly moving toward; this one begins quietly, and some writers find it pale at first, particularly in a very wet pen. Give the line an hour to develop.

Reviewers note a rather dry flow and modest water resistance in testing, though Platinum presents the Classic line as resistant to light and water once oxidized. Consider it an archival-minded ink rather than a waterproof one.

Also from the Classic line: Cassis Black and Khaki Black.
