Wearingeul The Sign of Four Fountain Pen Ink — 5 mL Archive Bottle
A mystery that reveals itself as the ink dries.
Inspired by Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Sign of Four, this purple ink holds four distinct elements: a violet base, green sheen, and separate blue and gold shimmer. In a generous swatch, the green gathers over the purple while small points of light remain visible beneath it, like clues that emerge only when the page is examined closely.
For handwritten stories, letters, and pages of observations, it brings the atmosphere of a Sherlock Holmes investigation to the writing desk. Its appearance changes with paper, ink flow, and the angle of the light.
From the Archivist’s desk
Our own swatch comparison shows how paper changes the effect: purple remains visible around the edges on the MARK’S EDiT B7 grid notebook, while the Col-o-ring card shows a darker green surface. The shimmer catches the light across both. The photograph in the gallery is our own swatch, made at Boston Lore Studio.

Using a shimmer ink: Gently agitate the bottle before filling to redistribute the shimmer. A wider or wetter nib generally makes the shimmer more visible. Use a fountain pen suitable for shimmer inks and clean it regularly.
