Wearingeul Frankenstein Fountain Pen Ink — 5 mL Archive Bottle

A 5 mL Archive Bottle of Wearingeul Frankenstein, inspired by Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein.

Frankenstein is a vivid, saturated purple fountain pen ink with murky green shimmer and a rust-like copper sheen that emerges as the ink dries. The combination gives the ink an appropriately strange and atmospheric character: deep purple in ordinary writing, with contrasting metallic effects becoming more apparent where the ink pools and catches the light.

Wearingeul created the color to evoke Victor Frankenstein’s creature — its destructive appearance and internal turmoil translated into purple, green, and copper on the page.

Each Archive Bottle contains 5 mL of genuine Wearingeul fountain pen ink, hand-bottled by Boston Lore Studio into a clear Type I borosilicate glass vial with a lined screw cap. Each bottle is individually labeled and presented in a labeled glassine envelope.

The Archive Bottle is intended as a small, keepable edition of an ink — enough to write with, explore across different papers and pens, or add to an ink collection without committing to a full bottle. When the ink is finished, the glass bottle can be cleaned and reused.

Ink Properties

A saturated violet-blue ink with striking teal shading and a reddish sheen that can emerge where the ink pools heavily on fountain-pen-friendly paper.

• Base color: vivid, saturated deep purple with a violet-blue appearance in some applications
• Glistening shimmer: murky green by Wearingeul's specification; it can appear blue-green, teal, or pearlescent blue depending on lighting and ink concentration
• Sheen: rust-like copper, most apparent in heavily saturated and pooled areas
• Shading: low to subtle
• Shimmer and sheen become especially pronounced in broad or pooled applications and under favorable lighting

For shimmer inks: Gently agitate the bottle before filling to redistribute the shimmer particles. Shimmer inks may require more frequent fountain pen cleaning and may perform best in pens with good ink flow.
