Robert Oster Jade sits between leaf green and warm olive, with a yellow-gold undertone that gives it a natural, slightly weathered character. It is not a cool blue-green; on the page it feels closer to moss, fresh leaves, and sunlit vegetation.
The ink is especially attractive in broader or wetter nibs, where its shading becomes more pronounced and the writing shifts from lighter yellow-green passages to deeper, more saturated green. Independent testing consistently describes Jade as a shading ink rather than a sheening ink: darker pooling may appear around the edges of heavy strokes, but it does not produce true metallic sheen. There is no shimmer.
