Sea Serpent brings indigo blue and copper sheen together, recalling dark water catching the last light of evening. Its name evokes the creatures that once inhabited the margins of sea charts. An inviting choice for voyage notes, maritime fiction, and stories of what lies beyond the familiar shore.

At the Writing Desk

Sheen appears as a contrasting, reflective surface where the ink gathers. Smooth, low-absorbency paper such as Tomoe River or iroful helps reveal the effect; a broader nib or generous ink flow can make it more pronounced. On absorbent paper, the base color will be more prominent.

Allow extra drying time before turning the page or closing a notebook. These water-soluble inks dry more slowly than conventional writing inks.

Color and sheen vary with paper, nib, ink flow, lighting, and viewing angle. Photographs show the manufacturer’s writing examples.
